Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq, a German national based in Düsseldorf, is widely recognized as an outstanding and experienced business and finance expert with more than 13 years of international experience. He is currently working as a Professor of Finance and Accounting at IUBH University of Applied Sciences in Germany. He is also a regular visiting faculty member at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and the international MBA program at Coburg University, Germany. His research interests include International Finance, Digital Transformation, FinTech, Emerging Markets, and Global Financial systems. 
Prof. Ashfaq is the author of the book “Islamic Banking and Finance in Europe: the Case of Germany and United Kingdom”. He has contributed to the development of the Islamic financial industry through his cutting-edge research, industry-specific training, and global initiatives for human capital development and organizational capacity building. Prof. Ashfaq has also conducted several lectures and facilitated training programs for many financial, academic, and multinational institutions on the topic of Islamic banking and finance, digital transformation. He also conducted a TV lecture series on Islamic finance for Paghiam TV Network. Prof. Ashfaq is a certified coach and consultant from HDW Network (NRW) Germany and certified Train the Trainer from the Australian Centre for Education and Training (ACET) Melbourne. He has earned certification in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship from International Summer University Carinthia, Austria.  Prof. Ashfaq has spoken on the topic of Islamic banking and finance, digital transformation, business ethics, sustainable development goals at conferences in more than 30 countries worldwide, and has served as a peer-review referee for several international conferences and journals. 

Prof. Ashfaq earned his doctor of philosophy on the topic: “Knowledge, Attitude and Practices toward Islamic Banking and Finance: An Empirical Analysis of Retail Consumers in Germany” from the University of Tübingen Germany. Prof. Ashfaq holds an MBA in Financial Management from Coburg University in Germany, a Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance, and an MBA in Banking and Finance. He was awarded the Young Scholars Research Award by Bilkent University, Turkey in 2015 for his cutting-edge research contribution to the area of Islamic finance. He was also awarded a prestigious LGFW (Baden Württenberg Government Germany) scholarship for his Ph.D. at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Furthermore, he is the co-editor of “In Welcher Gesellschaft Wollen wir Leben? Befunde zu Wirtschaftsethik in der globalisierten Gesellschaft Grundsätzlich Überlegungen aus Theorie und Praxis in Wirtschaft, Recht und im Speziellen in Ethical Finance & Islamic Banking” a book published in German and English by Rainer Hampp Verlag, Germany. He speaks three international languages including German, English, and Urdu.
He has played a key role in the conceptualization, development, and accreditation of study programs in various countries, and most recently developed an extensive and innovative study program Digital Business for undergraduate students at IUBH University Germany.
